Emmonak lab assistant certified

We are proud to announce that Gerald Lamont, Emmonak Subregional Clinic Laboratory Assistant, has successfully completed the Clinical Laboratory Assistant Certificate Program through UAA.

The Clinical Laboratory Assistant Program is the second step on the medical laboratory technology career pathway. Jerry takes distance delivered classes and works full time in the laboratory at the Emmonak Subregional Clinic.

Jerry is the second YKHC employee to become certified as a Clinical Laboratory Assistant. He began the program in 2001. April Kameroff was our first student to complete the program in 2004.

YKHC has seven Laboratory students in positions at the Subregional Clinics in Aniak, St. Marys, Emmonak, Toksook Bay, and the hospital Laboratory in Bethel. We wish all of our students continued success and thank them for the hard work that is required. It is the expertise of these students that helps YKHC to bring top notch laboratory services to our customers.
