children from the Ayaprun Yup'ik Immersion School in Bethel danced at the June potluck.
The Yukon Kuskokwim Area Health Education Center (YK AHEC) Clinical Rotations program hosted a Traditional Foods Lunch Potluck on June 29.
Students in the health professions are required to observe patient care and practice their skills under close supervision in a clinical rotation. Various YKHC departments host clinical rotations students, many of whom are new to our region. The potlucks are a way to welcome them, introduce them to our area, and meet and mingle with other YK staff.
During this first potluck, attendees were also treated to a Yup'ik dance performance by some children from the Ayaprun Yup'ik Immersion School. They did a fabulous job!
Potlucks will be held on the last Thursday of every month from 12 noon to 1 p.m. in the Human ResourcesConference Room, unless otherwise noted. The next potluck is scheduled for Thursday, July 27. Bring a dish or beverage to share and join us in welcoming the clinical rotations students. If possible a traditional dish is suggested, if not, any dish will be greatly appreciated.
