CHAM Rollout a huge success

For the past two months several Community Health Aide and EMS instructors have been busy rolling out the new 2006 (CHAM) Community Health Aide Manual.

This was a huge undertaking in that we provided training to 180 YKHC employees which included all the CHAs, medical providers and support staff. We covered several different areas in addition to the manual including the new Telemedicine Unit, fit testing for the N-95 respirator mask, immunizations update and new Code Blue EMS equipment.

The success of this operation hinged on tireless effort from behind the scenes. Theresa Cholok and Davina Alexie were especially vital in that they single-handedly arranged travel and per diem for more than 160 health aides.

Please take a minute and thank the following individuals for making the CHAM Rollout the huge success that it was: CHAP Instructors Nena Herrera, Celia Picazo, Chester Mark, Vanessa Hadley and Jesse Gunlik; EMS Instructors Jeff Hollabaugh and Bill O'Brien; and Immunization Coordinator Chris Desnoyers.

Above all, thanks to our Community Health Aides of the YK Delta who always go above and beyond in completing the mission. You're why we're here.
