Technology to bridge communication gap for Chevak child
The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) and the Seattle Childrens Hospital have asked YKHC to assist in setting up live video from Chevak to Seattle for a Chevak patient going through therapy at the Seattle Children’s Hospital.
This patient is disconnected from her own town and has no real-time communication from any of her family due to logistics of life in the Bush. YKHC will be traveling to Chevak to set up communications so we can make a little girl’s dream come true.
The Tandberg Company is loaning communications equipment for this to happen and will be assisting Seattle Childrens Hospital on their end to see that there are no hitches and that this is a success.
