Kusko receives national ‘Bull's Eye Award'

Congratulations to the YK Immunization Coalition who won a "Bull's Eye Award" for innovation and excellence from the Center for Disease Control & Prevention's National Association of Immunization Managers.

The Immunization Coalition is a facilitated partnership between the Public Health Center and the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation serving all residents of the YK Delta.

The award notification came in October from the Association of Immunization Managers.

The award was presented at an annual meeting held from on November 6, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Robert Filipczak, YKHC's Immunization Coordinator and key partner on the Immunization Coalition, was there to receive the award. "Thanks to the partnership between YKHC and the K-300 to promote a healthy vaccinated population, ‘Kusko' is making a difference."

"Kusko" the immunization mascot has been traveling to different villages visiting with communities and raising awareness of immunization status.

Congratulations Kusko and coalition members!

If you would like Kusko to visit your community, school or event please call Rob Filipczak at 543-6955 or Yolanda Smith 543-0432.
