Toksook acts on Reflection for Safety

On Friday, December 7, Bernadette Friday, Toksook's Suicide Prevention and Recreation Coordinator (SPARC) and Jolene John, Toksook SRC Operations Manager, spent some time in the Billy Lincoln Memorial Hall ironing reflective tape on articles of clothing brought in by local residents.

Thanks to YKHC's Injury Control/EMS Department, Toksook SRC also had enough supplies to issue reflective tape to families who are able to iron their own garments.

This effort also sparked the interest of the SPARC Program to hold an ironing session during their Kids' Night event. Toksook SRC encourages all children, hunters, fishers and Search & Rescue members to get their outer garments to show reflection in the dark.

Quyana to Bernadette/SPARC, the families and the Nunakauyak Traditional Council (NTC) for your support in this effort!
