Smiles abound at YK Dental's Prevention Event

by Robert E. Ward, RDH, SAS 2008 Coordinator

YKHC's Dental Disease Prevention Program celebrated it's 19th Annual Smile Alasaka Style at the Camai Dance Festival at Bethel Regional High School on Sat. March 29.

Raising awareness of the importance of good oral hygiene and its effect on lowering decay rates is the cornerstone of the event.

YK dentists and assistants provided dental screenings and tooth brushing and flossing instructions to participants. Everyone was eligible for the many door prizes, as well as ‘goodie bags'  with toothbrush, toothpaste and floss.

Mr. Molar was a hit with the crowd, especially the little ones. A good time was had by all. We look forward to the event next year and hope this year's effort will have a positive effect on residents of The Delta.

Thanks to all our local business partners and the staff at the YK Dental Department for the success of this year's event.
