Kwethluk's Martha Olick named May Health Aide of the Month

On Thursday, June 5, Corporate Medical Director Dr. Joseph Klejka and Deputy Director of Village Operations Karl Powers presented the Health Aide of the Month award to Martha Olick during a luncheon at the Betty Guy Memorial Clinic in Kwethluk. Joined by her husband Moses and 3-year old son, Olick received a $50 gift certificate to the YKHC Gift Shop and a $50 phone card.

Olick was nominated by Supervisor Instructor Martha Atti, Dr. Paula Diamante in Pediatrics, and Senior Basic Training Instructor Chester Mark. She was praised as, "providing consistent and extraordinary health care to the people of Kwethluk."

Olick, a Health Aide of 13 years, was also commended for her recent efforts in saving the life of a young patient in Kwethluk.

"The lifesaving example is only one of the many lives that Martha has touched, helped, and saved. She is one of our most reliable and sharpest clinicians in the Delta," said Atti. "Martha is a superstar health aide who rocks!"

Each month, YKHC awards special recognition to an outstanding Health Aide; this is the second award presented this year.
