SRC Lab Assistant earns certification

Elsie Chanar, Toksook Bay Subregional Clinic Lab Assistant, successfully passed the ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathology) Board of Registry Exam for Phlebotomy Technician.
This is a national certification for collecting and processing blood for laboratory testing.
Elsie has been taking distance education classes through the UAA Medical Laboratory Technician program. She completed six college credit hours and one year of on-the-job training to become eligible to take the exam.
