Marlene Ayunerak, Health Aide of the Month for September, 2008
September Health Aide of the Month: Marlene Ayunerak of Alakanuk
The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation's Community Health Aide Program recognizes Marlene Ayunerak of Alakanuk as the September 2008 Health Aide of the Month.
Marlene joined YKHC in August 1999 and has worked diligently at the Alakanuk Clinic, providing comfort and care to each patient she encounters.
"I nominated Marlene because she's a very hard-working and concerned Health Aide," said Lucy Martin, Supervisor Instructor. "Even though the Alakanuk Clinic has been struggling with staffing issues and have been very busy, Marlene has remained focused and keeps her head up. She deserves recognition for all of her contributions to YKHC's patients."
Despite her busy schedule during and after work hours, Marlene insists on treating every patient she can to ensure they receive quality and timely care. She has responded to five emergencies, which eventually led to the transport of the patients to Bethel via medivac. Her commitment and dedication have enhanced the wellness within her community.
YKHC representatives will be honoring Marlene during a special luncheon at the Alakanuk Clinic.
Congratulations on your life saving and compassionate efforts Marlene!
The Health Aide workforce represents the sustainability of health care in the YK Delta. Each month, YKHC awards special recognition to an outstanding Health Aide.
