By Theresa Bean, Public Relations
The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation's Community Health Aide Program (CHAP) recognizes Paul Kassock of Alakanuk as the December 2008 Health Aide of the Month.
Paul has been a Health Aide for nearly two years and recently finished his second session. He has provided excellent patient care and has become a stand-out Health Aide who is confident and comfortable in his work. Additionally, Paul has shown an unwavering ability to put patients first in emergency situations. Recently, Paul helped to deliver a premature baby in his village clinic, along with his co-workers Cecelia Tucker and Thomas Alstrom.
"If it weren't for Paul and his co-workers, the baby probably wouldn't have survived," said Supervisor Instructor Lucy Martin. "Paul is a very dedicated, hard worker."
The CHAP program is lucky to have such devoted staff, like Paul, serving our region's communities. Congratulations Paul!
The Health Aide workforce represents the sustainability of health care in the YK Delta. Each month, YKHC awards special recognition to an outstanding Health Aide. If you would like to recognize a particular Health Aide, contact the Field Supervision Instructor at 543-6160.
