The Healthy Alaska Natives Foundation, an organization established in 2007 by the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC), honored President/CEO Gene Peltola during the 2nd Annual Raven's Ball on Friday, March 27 in Anchorage.

Peltola received the Luminary Legacy & Leadership award for his tireless efforts in bringing quality health care to Natives in Alaska's most rural communities.

"Thank you for this distinguished honor," Peltola told the crowd during his brief acceptance speech. "However, it is the hard work of the men and women in our village clinics and hospital that have made YKHC what it is today."

Peltola also acknowledged the support of his wife in contributing to his success.

The Raven's Ball is an annual black tie fundraiser for the Healthy Alaska Natives Foundation. The Foundation was created to enhance and sustain medical care, improve environmental health conditions and community health for all Alaska Natives.
