Board welcomes new members
Three new members were sworn in to represent their YK Delta regions at the meeting of the full Board of Directors Nov. 18-20, 2009.
Two of the new members, Glen Watson, Sr. of Bethel and Chris Larson of Napaskiak, will be representing Unit 5, replacing Henry Hunter of Bethel and Joe Bavilla of Napaskiak. Both Hunter and Bavilla have served on the Board for more than a decade.
Eric Olson, Sr., of Hooper Bay, steps into the seat being vacated by James Hoelscher, representing Unit 9.
Board Chair Ray Alstrom extended a warm welcome to the new members while expressing heartfelt appreciation for the long service and dedication of the departing members.
The new members soon found positions on the various standing committees, joining those whose longevity provides the continuity of leadership that has sustained YKHC's growth and success throughout its 40-year history.
