The Bethel Prematernal Home serves as a home away from home for pregnant women who must travel to Bethel to await the birth of their baby. The current Prematernal Home was built in 1971 and the passing of time has left it in a state beyond repair. Because of this, YKHC is building an entirely new facility, thanks to state capital projects funding and the support of our regional legislators.
Building materials are scheduled to arrive on the barges later this summer and construction is expected to begin this fall. The ground breaking ceremony for the new Prematernal Home is tentatively scheduled for mid July. Expected completion is early 2014.
