Emergency Services
Emergency Room
When patients arrive at the Emergency Department, they are screened by a nurse who determines the urgency of the situation. Patients whose illness or injury could result in death or loss of a body part are seen first.
If at all possible, patients with problems that could be treated during regular clinic hours are encouraged to use the outpatient clinics to minimize wait times in the Emergency Department. Bethel patients with medical emergencies may come straight to the Emergency Department or be brought by the Bethel City Ambulance Service.
If you or your child are seriously ill or injured in the village, the Community Health Aide will talk with the Radio Medical Traffic doctor or, after 11 p.m., with the Emergency Department doctor who will determine whether to dispatch a critical care air ambulance.
Hours
The emergency department is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
