Career Pathways Program
Students from the Kuspuk School District recently toured the Aniak Subregional Clinic. |
We believe that students who receive early exposure to health careers will be more likely to pursue careers in health and may eventually return to the YK Delta as healthcare professionals.
YKHC's Career Pathways program partners with regional school districts to provide awareness activities, tours of the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta Regional Hospital, and career information for students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
We also coordinate high school work experience placements and make referrals for scholarships and education programs for direct or allied health care training.
We work with the Kuskokwim Campus, University of Alaska-Fairbanks and Lower Kuskokwim School District to deliver health-related classes that offer students the opportunity to receive both high school and college credit.
Career Pathways is funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services HRSA Area Health Education Center grant.
