Bethel Health Fair Goes to Hawaii
by Sarah Pearson

With palm trees and flowered shirts the Bethel Health Fair took off for a day of activities. About 70 people participated in the morning blood draw October 25, 2003. The Physical Therapy Department sponsored a Fun Walk, Run, and Bike in the middle of the day.

During the afternoon, the Bethel Health Fair took place. More than 30 presenters were available to talk to and learn from. Topics relating to health in the delta ranged from Women's Health, Well Child, Nutrition, PATC, to UAF Co-Op Extension. For children, there was a game room as well as entertainment for all ages presented by the Yup'ik Immersion Dance Group. Throughout the afternoon door prizes were awarded to lucky winners.

Thanks to all the sponsors who donated prizes from stuffed animals to televisions to round trips to villages. Thanks to everyone who participated to make this community event such a wonderful time for all involved.
