Mandatory Training

The Learning Center at YKHC manages corporate mandatory training. This includes new employee orientation, and required annual training renewals.

LPN Training Program

This program encourages and trains tribal members to become Licensed Practical Nurses.

YKHC implemented the Licensed Practical Nurse Training (LPN) Program in January, 2002, through strategic partnerships with the University of Alaska-Anchorage, University of Alaska-Kuskokwim Campus and the Alaska Job Center Network.

The training is delivered in Bethel to eight Licensed Practical Nurse trainees. This program brings nursing education close to home for regional residents and makes sustainable employment in a high-paying, high-demand field a reality. Upon completion of the course, students sit for the national certification examination. The Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation will offer employment to successful candidates who meet our employment requirements.

Customer Service Training

This three-hour Basic Customer Service Training session is offered bi-weekly. The intent is to enhance the awareness of proper customer service techniques so employees provide quality services to our customers, partners and tribal members. It is of primary importance that customers are satisfied with the service they receive at YKHC. The training also applies to co-workers and business partners as well as customers.

Train the Trainer

In collaboration with the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, YKHC provides opportunities for trainers in various programs to refine or develop skills as Trainers.
