Norma Shorty
The Subregional Clinics would like to recognize the Employee of the month. This is for an employee who works at the SRC who does an outstanding job above and beyond what it required.
This month we would like to recognize Norma Shorty, CHAP at Emmonak SRC. Norma has been a Health Aide for over 25 years. Norma is ALWAYS at work. She has only missed a couple of days for being sick and always asks for time off in advance. She usually has a very full schedule of clients and when not busy, she goes through the immunization list and schedules immunizations, or blood draws for med refills. When she works with the providers, she is always one step ahead of them in screening their patients and calling in their patients.
If someone cancels or doesn't show, she moves patients from the health aides to keep the providers busy. She does this all in such a manner that the clinic continues to run smoothly, even when we are swamped. She is able to give patient education to patients over the phone which, consequently, has her seeing fewer patients after- hours.
We are very thankful to have Norma's experience and hope she will continue to work for many more years.
Congratulations, Norma, and keep up the good work!
