Diabetes Prevention and Control is very pleased to announce the winners of $5000 Physical Activity Mini-Grants. These mini-grants were for equipment to increase physical activity. They were available to all the Y-K Delta area schools.
The equipment could be anything from a Bo-Flex to jump ropes to snow shoes.
The schools were selected on a first come first serve basis. They are Nuniwarmiut School in Mekoryuk, Emmonak School, Mountain Village School, Marshall School, and George Willis School in Red Devil.
Congratulations to all who were awarded. There will be another mini-grant award opportunity in the fall of 2004. Thanks to all the site administrators, principals and teachers who applied.
