The Phillips Ayagnirvik Treatment Center

The Phillips Ayagnirvik Treatment Center offers a "new beginning" to individuals suffering from the disease of substance abuse or addiction. PATC offers a full continuum of care, including Residential Treatment, Intensive Outpatient, Primary Outpatient, Aftercare, and a new Therapeutic Court Treatment Program. The PATC Recovery Program serves regional and statewide referrals with treatment modalities, which combine 12 Step Recovery with research-based treatment methods, and build upon the cultural strengths and Wisdom Tradition of the Yupik People. Treatment services include individual, group and family therapy, psycho-educational discussion groups, Cultural teachings by Elders, and medical or psychiatric services for patients who need them. Positive Native Family Values, Life Skills and Anger Management classes are an integral part of the Treatment Program. Traditional crafts and Subsistence activities are a valuable addition to our services.

Residential Program

Phillips Ayagnirvik is an ASAM Level III.5 treatment facility with 16 beds for both men and women. PATC operates on an "open enrollment" model, with an average 6-week length of stay. The Program is fully capable of treating co-occurring mental health issues along with all kinds of substance abuse and addiction.

Phillips Ayagnirvik offers Primary Outpatient counseling for substance abuse and "dual recovery" for clients who do not require a residential level of care.

Bethel Therapeutic Court Treatment Program

This is a collaborative effort of YKHC-PATC, the Bethel District Court, the District Attorney, Public Defender Agency and Probation Department. The Program provides outpatient alcohol and drug treatment, intensive psychotherapy, close monitoring of abstinence, pharmacological treatment with Naltrexone when appropriate, Case Management and community service, and weekly review of Treatment progress in front of the presiding Judge.

All of the PATC programs and clients are supported by Peer Recovery Support Meetings such as Alcoholics and Narcotics Anonymous, Talking Circles and "Sobriety Steams." As part of our commitment to supporting recovery in our home community, all of the AA and NA Meetings are held at PATC.
