Anna Noes
Anna Anguksuar Noes is the daughter of Phillip and Alice Noes of Bethel, Alaska. Anna is a dedicated, persistent, friendly, and cheerful person. She greets people with friendliness and is always willing to help. Anna continues to forge ahead to complete the task at hand and sets a wonderful example for others to follow. She is a natural leader.
Anna was born and raised in Bethel, Alaska. She attended and graduated from the Bethel Regional High School in 1999. She started working for YKHC in the year 2000 as a Medical Records Technician. Today, she still works for YKHC but with a different job title. Anna has worked her way up the career ladder to become a Certified Coder. Anna completed Certified Public Manager training and is currently an Assistant Coding Supervisor in Medical Records.
"When I was promoted into a Health Information Service (HIS) Technician II job, I was required to take classes to meet the qualifications. So, I did that! I will admit that it was hard, because I did it on top of raising my two children. They were my inspiration to keep going. Today, as an Assistant Coding Supervisor, I help supervise, code day surgery, Village Patient Encounter Forms (PEF's), code for the walk-in clinic (Delta Clinic), status report, train new staff about data entry, and other tasks assigned."
To become a Coder, it takes at least two years of study to understand the system and the language of coding. Some of the requirements are Medical Terminology, International Classification of Diseases (ICD) 9 Step-by-Step coding classes, and, finally, the National Certification exam. If and when you pass the five-hour test, you become a Certified Coder.
