Recently, a press release from the State of Alaska Department of Law was issued regarding former YKHC employee Gene Geisler, who has been indicted by the Grand Jury in Anchorage based on allegations of child pornography and sexual exploitation. He has not worked for YKHC for nearly a year.

On Tuesday morning, April 28, 2015, the Alaska Village Electric Cooperative (AVEC) experienced a fire in their oldest and largest generator (#6) sometime after 11:00 a.m. The Emmonak Volunteer Fire Department responded, including their recently trained and newest firefighters.

Last summer and fall, YKHC submitted a Joint Venture Construction Program (JVCP) proposal to the IHS to construct a new outpatient clinic and renovate the Bethel hospital.
