The staff at the Kwethluk Health Clinic has taken a pro-active stand in the fight against pertussis. Each person in the clinic helped to identify all the pregnant women in their community and screen them and their family members to ensure their vaccines that protect against pertussis are up-to-date.

Bobby Heckman, CHA III in Pilot Station, is always willing to help out in other villages when asked. This year, he has floated to other villages six times, providing excellent patient care.
Alexandra Tikiun, CHA III, in Atmautluak has been nominated and chosen Health Aide of the Month for October.
Mekoryuk ‘s Linda Davis, CHP, was nominated for consistent and accurate job performance. She is on time all the time, whether it’s reporting to work, completing Well Child exams, finishing Health Stream assignments, or holding weekly clinic meetings.
Alvina Murphy was nominated Health Aide of the Month for August for her untiring service to her community as a health care provider.
Melody’s performance in exceeding her Well Child exam goals every month has gone above and beyond. She has also consistently proven to be an excellent role model and a valued YKHC employee.
June’s Health Aide of the Month is Gloria George, of Mtn. Village. Says her on-call co-worker: “I was so thankful she told me I am not alone when I am on call, that whatever calls I get, I don’t need to respond alone and she kept her word.”
