Behavioral Health seeking ASIST Trainers

Behavioral Health is looking for five community members in the YK Delta to attend the Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) course in Dillingham. Ideal candidates should enjoy travel, working with people, and Yup’ik speaking candidates are preferred. Travel and expenses are paid, but this is not a full-time paid position. Ideal candidates should be those familiar with our region’s challenges regarding suicide, are involved community members such as VPSOs, are concerned advocates for our youth, and understand the need to work and educate other health professionals, counselors, and community members about the complexities of suicide. Attendees will train within the YK Delta Region as needed, after they learn the skills at the ‘train the trainers’ ASIST course in Dillingham.
