In addition to the prevention of tobacco use, through community outreach and education, we offer cessation services to anyone interested in quitting. A trained Tobacco Treatment Specialist is available to provide support throughout the entire process. Replacement therapies are available, including the nicotine patch, gum, and other pharmacotherapies. We offer many resources to help people quit, including Text to Quit and QuitLine. A supplemental food program that serves families during critical stages in life, WIC provides healthy foods, nutrition education, and referrals to other health and social services. The program fosters nutrition and health by providing nutrient dense foods, encouraging regular health care, and promoting good nutrition through education.
Our WIC program serves about 2,400 participants every month. We work closely with vendors in our remote communities to make sure they are stocked with the foods WIC provides. In communities that do not offer WIC foods in their local stores, we are able to send boxes of food to WIC participants each month.
