North Wing Inpatient Unit

On Saturday, May 18, six inpatient nurses and one OB nurse gained their PEARS (Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization) certification through the American Heart Association.

Dr. Cynthia Mondesir, one of our own pediatricians, taught the students how to improve recognition of respiratory distress, shock and cardiac arrest in pediatric patients—while providing appropriate lifesaving interventions until the child is able to be transferred to another level of care.

This level of education will help to improve outcomes for our pediatric patients.

These nurses included Nicholas Watson RN, Esprit Wilber RN, Dena Holmes RN, Gary Holmes RN, Morgan Coyle RN, Sandra Fox RN and Kerry Cobbledick RN [OB].
