Shortly after noon on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, YKHC personnel were notified of a plane crash that took place outside of Russian Mission. YKHC activated an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) within 12 minutes of notification to ensure medical personnel, supplies, and emergency transportation were standing by. YKHC stayed in close contact with the Alaska State Troopers for ongoing updates. YKHC has stood down, but the EOC was active for roughly two and a half hours.

YKHC would like to issue our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of those who lost their lives. Emergency clinicians have been made available for families and loved ones at YKHC’s Family Center in Bethel. The Family Center is located at 837 Chief Eddie Hoffman Highway and can be accessed via the road behind CHSB (the new YK building) and is located directly north of the building.

Behavioral Health Aides throughout the region’s village clinics are also standing by to speak with family and loved ones. If anyone would like to call and speak with an emergency clinician, they can do so by calling 907-543-6499.
