The nineteenth annual Tribal Unity Gathering will be held on April 10-12, 2012 at the Yupiit Piciryarait Cultural Center in Bethel. Tribal Delegates, please register before March 30th! Click here to register on line!

The theme this year will be Wangkuta Nunamteni, Piciryaraput / Our Community, Our Tradition—focusing on traditional approaches to staying healthy: medicines, healing arts and cultural strengths that have long sustained the Native way of life.

The Gathering will begin on Tuesday evening, April 10, with a panel discussion and open mic for sharing community knowlege of traditional healing and cultural strengths. This “pre-gathering” is open to all for participation. Bethel residents: come and meet and mingle and see old friends & family from the villages.

The Tribal Unity Gathering brings Tribal Council representatives from all of our regional villages together to learn about what YKHC has been doing to improve health care.

YKHC Leadership and health care service programs will present information during the conference. Afterwards, Tribal Council representatives will review and determine health care priorities for the coming year.

And, back by popular demand: Nolan the Colon! Sponsored by our cancer screening unit, this giant inflatable colon illustrates the need for regular check-ups and colonoscopies for people of a certain age…

Tribal Councils: look for an information letter with delegate applications coming to you soon, with links to easy registration on our website:
