Pharmacy
The pharmacy provides medications prescribed by YKHC providers in our inpatient units, outpatient and village clinics, emergency room, behavioral health programs and other YKHC programs.
We also work with health aides to help stock village clinics with medications that can treat many short-term conditions.
Our pharmacy team is an important part of your care team. We are available to answer any questions about your prescriptions, other medications or perform a review of all your medications.
When you pick up a medication for the first time, we encourage you to speak with a pharmacist or health aide about: 
•  When, how and how long to take your medicine
•  Common side effects to expect and how to deal with them if they occur
•  Possible interactions with other medicines you are taking
•  Whether the medicine is safe to take if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
To help facilitate easy refills of continuing medications, we suggest customers do the following:
•  Sign up to get texts when your prescriptions are ready for pick up. Speak to any pharmacy staff member to sign up!
•  Request refills 7-10 days before you run out of medication to allow time for your prescription to be refilled and mailed, if needed. 
•  If you are out of refills, speak with your primary care provider or pharmacist. For refill renewals on chronic pain medications, please contact your nurse case manager directly.
For safe disposal of unwanted medications, deposit medications in blue medication disposal box to the right of the pharmacy windows or request a safe, at-home medication disposal by from any sub-regional clinic
Please note: Our pharmacy is unable to fill prescriptions from providers outside of our healthcare system. However, we are happy to work with your case manager and provider to continue or adjust prescriptions outside providers.
