One new in-region hospitalization, two medevacs and seventeen new cases of COVID-19 in the YK Delta April 2-4

On April 2, YKHC reports one new in-region hospitalization, one medevac and eleven new cases of COVID-19 in the YK Delta.

One In-Region Hospitalization
YKHC reports that one COVID-19 positive individual was admitted into the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta Regional Hospital. This is the 150th individual hospitalized in-region due to COVID-19.

One Medevac
One COVID-19 positive individual was medevac’d out-of-region for hospitalization. This is the 41st individual medevac’d due to COVID-19.

New COVID-19 Cases

On April 3, YKHC reports one medevac two new cases of COVID-19 in the YK Delta.

One COVID-19 positive individual was medevac’d out-of-region for hospitalization. This is the 42nd individual medevac’d due to COVID-19.

COVID-19 Updates and Community Information

Updated COVID-19 testing hours: 

In Bethel,

Between Monday, April 4, and Friday, April 15, PCR and Binax tests will be available at the outdoor testing site across the street from the hospital between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. every day (EXCEPT Sunday, April 10). Individuals interested in testing out of quarantine or isolation early and close contacts of known positive cases should test at the outdoor site.

Walk-in testing for individuals who have not tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 90 days is available on the first floor of the hospital, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Starting Monday, April 18, the outdoor testing site across the street from the hospital will be closed. COVID-19 testing will be available at the testing site on the first floor of the hospital. Binax tests will be available 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. PCR tests will be available in the same location by request only during the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.  Please enter through the main entrance of the hospital.  No appointment needed.

Vaccinations: YKHC strongly encourages all people 5 years and older to get vaccinated against COVID-19. 

Booster shots:  Anyone ages 12 or older who is five months past their second shot of the Pfizer is eligible for a booster. Everyone ages 18 or older who received the Moderna vaccine more than five months ago or the Johnson & Johnson vaccine more than two months ago is also eligible. To learn more, click here.
