YKHC increases pay rate and sign-on bonus for health aides and behavioral health aides

YKHC leadership and the Board of Directors are pleased to share that all current health aides, health aide trainees, and behavioral health aides (BHAs) and BHA trainees will receive a 5% increase in hourly pay. New health aides, health aide trainees, BHAs and BHA trainees hired after August 3 will also get this new rate.

We have also increased the sign-on bonus for new hire health aides and BHAs to $7,500. This includes $5,000 paid after 90 days of successful work and $2,500 after one full year of working as a health aide or BHA.

To set this new pay and bonus, we looked at pay across the state. While we were competitive, we wanted to provide additional compensation to help make YKHC the top choice for health aides to sign-on, stay and grow in their careers.

Raising pay for our health aides, health aide trainees, BHAs and BHA trainees is an important step to help us keep our current staff and hire new ones. The critical work they do supports our Napartet priority of “Increasing access to primary, specialty and village care closer to home.”

While YKHC prepares for changes in the future, we remain firmly committed to serving our customers throughout the YK region. Health aides play a key role in ensuring our customers get the care they need in their community.

If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a health aide or BHA, we encourage you to apply! YKHC offers on-the-job training, support, generous paid time off and other benefits to help make your journey to becoming a health aide easier.  Apply today at www.ykhc.org/work.

To our current health aides and behavioral health aides — quyana for everything you do for our customers! Your hard work makes a real difference in the lives of our communities every day.
