COVID-19 Updates and Community Information

Updates to COVID-19 dashboard: Effective Friday, Oct. 29, YKHC revised the data provided on the COVID-19 dashboard and in the weekly Situational Report. We added information on the age range of new positive COVID-19 cases identified in the prior week. We no longer report the number of YK Delta residents out of region while infectious or non-residents infectious in region, as these numbers do not meaningfully impact the disease burden in the region.

Vaccinations: YKHC strongly encourages all people 12 years and older to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

Booster shots:  Most YK Delta residents 18 or older who are 6 months past their second shot of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine are eligible for a booster. Everyone ages 18 or older who received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine more than two months ago is also eligible.

To schedule a vaccine or booster appointment: To schedule a vaccine appointment or to learn more about the vaccine or booster shots, visit https://www.ykhc.org/covid-19/vaccine/ or call 1-800-478-6599.

COVID-19 testing: All people who are experiencing symptoms (fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, diarrhea, or diminished sense of taste or smell) or who are a close contact of known positive cases are encouraged to get tested as soon as possible.

  • In Bethel, mobile testing is available in the parking lot across from the hospital from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday. Testing is also available on the first floor of the hospital (enter through the main doors). Walk-ins available or call 543-6949 to schedule an appointment.
  • In surrounding communities, call your local clinic for more information.

Community safety: YKHC recommends all people, regardless of vaccination status, wear a mask in any indoor public setting. To view the complete recommendations, visit https://www.ykhc.org/covid-19/resources/.

Additionally, continue to practice protective measures such as practicing regular hand-washing, avoiding hosting or attending large gatherings, and frequently disinfecting high-touch surfaces.

Positive COVID-19 test: If you test positive for COVID-19, tell your close contacts, self-isolate and visit https://www.ykhc.org/covid-19/care/ for more information.

Learn more: For more information about COVID-19 in the YK Delta, visit www.ykhc.org/covid-19.

Cases identified over a holiday are reported the next business day.) Whenever possible, YKHC will notify patients and call the affected communities the day cases are identified
