For January 8-10, YKHC reports one in-region hospitalization and 121 new cases of COVID-19 in the YK Delta.

On January 9, YKHC reports 15 new COVID-19 cases in the YK Delta.

On January 10, YKHC reports one in-region hospitalization and 50 new COVID-19 cases in the YK Delta.

One In-Region Hospitalization
One COVID-19 positive individual was admitted into the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta Regional Hospital. This is the 128thindividual hospitalized in-region due to COVID-19.

COVID-19 Updates and Community Information

Vaccinations: YKHC strongly encourages all people 5 years and older to get vaccinated against COVID-19. 

Booster shots:  Anyone ages 16 or older who is 6 months past their second shot of the Pfizer is eligible for a booster.Everyone ages 18 or older who received the Moderna vaccine more than 6 months ago or the Johnson & Johnson vaccine more than two months ago is also eligible.

To schedule a vaccine appointment for children ages 5 to 11: In Bethel, call 543-6949. In villages, please call your local clinic

COVID-19 testing: All people who are experiencing symptoms (fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, diarrhea, or diminished sense of taste or smell) or who are a close contact of known positive cases are encouraged to get tested as soon as possible. 

  • In Bethel, mobile testing is available in the parking lot across from the hospital from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday. Testing is also available on the first floor of the hospital (enter through the main doors). Walk-ins available or call 543-6949 to schedule an appointment. 
  • In surrounding communities, call your local clinic for more information. 

Community safety: YKHC recommends all people, regardless of vaccination status, wear a mask in any indoor public setting.
