On February 11, YKHC reports sixty-nine  new cases of COVID-19 in the YK Delta.

COVID-19 Updates and Community Information

Updated COVID-19 testing hours:  In villages, contact your local clinic.

In Bethel —

Individuals who have symptoms of COVID-19 OR are close contacts of a known positive are required to test at the outdoor site, located in the CHSB parking lot, across the street from the hospital, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday. PCR tests will be administered during these hours. If you test positive, you will be contacted within 24-48 hours. (Please note that Binax rapid tests are not available during these hours.)

Known COVID-positive individuals wanting to test out of quarantine on/after day 5 must test at the outdoor site located in the CHSB parking lot, across the street from the hospital, 4:30 and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, or Saturday, 4 to 6 p.m. Binax rapid tests will be administered and test results will be available after 20 minutes. If your results are positive after this test, please do not test again. If your symptoms are resolving and you have no fever for 24 hours or more, you may end quarantine after day 10.

Routine COVID-19 testing for those who have not tested positive within the last 90 days is available without an appointment on the first floor of the hospital 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please enter through the main entrance, not the emergency room. Routine testing is also available on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Blueberry conference room, located by the emergency room entrance.

Vaccinations: YKHC strongly encourages all people 5 years and older to get vaccinated against COVID-19. 

Booster shots:  Anyone ages 12 or older who is five months past their second shot of the Pfizer is eligible for a booster. Everyone ages 18 or older who received the Moderna vaccine more than five months ago or the Johnson & Johnson vaccine more than two months ago is also eligible. Community safety: YKHC recommends all people, regardless of vaccination status, wear a mask in any indoor public setting.
