Community Lockdown Advisory Update

YKHC released an updated lockdown advisory which helps communities identify when it would be safe to begin lifting COVID-19-related, communitywide restrictions. The new advisory can be found at https://ykhcmedia.sfo3.digitaloceanspaces.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/08154524/022521-lockdown-guidance.pdf.

The new guidelines are based on recommendations from the State and CDC, stakeholder feedback and the availability of vaccines.

Recommendations for lifting restrictions vary based on the level of community transmission of COVID-19 in the area. Levels of transmission are established based on multiple indicators:

  • Total new cases in the past 7 days,
  • Percentage of positive tests during the past 7 days
  • Percentage of eligible population that has been vaccinated,
  • Households in the same sub-regional area with positive cases in the past 7 days
  • Contact tracing of local cases

To safely lift lockdown restrictions, all community members must be practicing proper precautions, such as proper mask wearing, physical distancing, proper quarantine practices, small social circles, regular screening tests and good ventilation. YKHC encourages all eligible people in the community to be vaccinated. (To request a vaccination appointment, please submit a vaccine application online at https://tinyurl.com/y7reeyst. Residents without internet can call OEH at 800-478-6599 or 543- 6420 M-F from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
