YKHC COVID-19 Testing Criteria

Updated April 28, 2021

COVID-19 testing is an important tool to reduce the spread of the virus. With widespread testing, positive cases can be caught early, which can help minimize further transmission.

Currently, free testing is available for any person who would like to be tested. Binex testing is available daily at the hospital for patients with appointments. In the village, please call your local clinic.

COVID-19 testing is available at the Bethel drive-thru testing site across the street from the hospital Friday from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Testing is also available at the Alaska Airlines terminal in Bethel when the Alaska Airlines passenger flights arrive, noon and 7 p.m.

“Close contacts” and persons showing symptoms of COVID-19 may be tested by appointment by calling the COVID-19 hotline at 543-6949 (or without an appointment by visiting the drive-thru or airport testing sites.)

Individuals who are concerned about the onset of new COVID-19 symptoms should call 543-6949 in Bethel for testing referrals. In villages, call your clinic to be assisted. Symptoms include, but are not limited to, cough, shortness of breath, chills, diminished sense of taste or smell, diarrhea, fatigue, fever, headache, muscle/joint aches, nausea, runny nose and sore throat.

YKHC is providing regular COVID-19 updates on our website at www.ykhc.org/covid-19.

COVID-19: Call Before Seeking Care

If you have symptoms like a fever, cough or shortness of breath, do not go to your village clinic and do not go to the Emergency Room in Bethel. Instead, call your village clinic, or in Bethel, call 543-6949.
