YKHC Board of Directors Resolution Aligns with Recent Study Findings

In 2015, the YKHC Board of Directors passed resolution 15-04-01. In this resolution, the YKHC Board of Directors expressed concern about the local sale of alcoholic beverages, based on well-documented health research indicating local sales were associated with increased alcohol-related accidents, traumas and fatalities in communities and regions. Recover Alaska, an Alaska non-profit working to reduce excessive alcohol use and harm, recently issued findings of a study that analyzes ten years of data (2007-2018) provided by local law enforcement, health providers, state agencies and non-profits; and indicates demand for services has increased.
