Shortage of test reagent and offline equipment cause lab delay

YKHC was notified on Thursday, November 19, that COVID-19 test results sent to the ANMC lab for processing are expected to experience a 7-14 day delay as a result of nationwide shortage of testing reagent and molecular analyzers pulled offline to undergo maintenance. ANMC runs processing of COVID-19 tests for multiple rural Tribal Health Organizations, including YKHC.

The lab results of individuals in the YK Delta tested for COVID-19 on October 29 and November 3-20 may be affected by this delay.

Where possible, ANMC is transferring tests to the State lab for processing. YKHC was informed the State is also experiencing a high volume of testing, which may contribute to an expanded turnaround time.

YKHC will provide an update as we learn more.
