YK Elders Home receives Nursing Home Excellence in Quality Award

The YK Elders Home was the recipient of the Mountain Pacific Excellence in Quality Award, one of only three facilities in Alaska to receive the distinction in the 2023 Nursing Home Quality Awards. Criteria for the award were based on a quality measure point system that included decreasing adverse drug events, preventing infection, decreasing readmissions, improving resident vaccination rates for influenza and pneumococcal vaccines and a bonus category that acknowledged nursing homes that were never referred to Mountain Pacific from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services for COVID-19 outbreak.

“Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Alaska’s nursing homes demonstrated incredible resilience and an unwavering commitment to the health and well-being of their communities,” said Lori Chikoyak, Alaska Account Manager for Mountain Pacific “Their dedication is truly remarkable. Mountain Pacific is proud to present them with these well-deserved awards, acknowledging their extraordinary efforts. We look forward to an ongoing partnership that will further enhance the quality of care in Alaska, ensuring that our community members receive the very best care.”
