YKHC has received feedback that customers who have called the COVID-19 hotline frequently experienced challenges leaving messages and either did not receive a call back or received a delayed call back. We understand the frustration this has caused during this uncertain time and have worked hard to remedy the issue.
In an effort to improve customer experience, effective today at 1 p.m., YKHC is restructuring how the COVID-19 hotline is staffed. As a result, the hotline will be operational Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Outside of these hours, callers can leave a voicemail with contact information to receive a return call. All messages will be returned within a 24-hour period, with the exception of calls that come in on weekends or holidays—which will be returned the next business day.
For customers calling the hotline to obtain COVID-19 test results, please remember that the quickest way to receive a test result is through myYKHealth—your secure, web-based health record—as the lab uploads the results as soon as they are available to YKHC. Already have myYKHealth? Access your test result by selecting “Health Record,” then “Results.” Need help signing up for myYKHealth? Call 907-543-6947 or email MyYKHealthEnroll@ykhc.org.
Please keep in mind, YKHC is currently experiencing a 5-12 day turnaround time with the external labs processing our COVID-19 tests. Due to an increased demand for testing statewide and staffing at these external labs, YKHC is unfortunately unable to control this timeframe.
Symptoms of COVID-19 include a fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, diarrhea, and diminished sense of taste or smell. If you have these symptoms, do not go to your village clinic or to the emergency room in Bethel. Instead, call your village clinic or in Bethel call 543-6949 so a health care provider can assist you.
YKHC continues to offer free COVID-19 testing, without an appointment, at the Bethel drive-thru testing site every Wednesday from noon to 4 p.m. Testing also continues by appointment at the Bethel drive-thru testing site on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, by calling 543-6949.
