On March 2, YKHC reports one death and forty-one new cases of COVID-19 in the YK Delta.

One Death
It is with profound sadness YKHC reports that a YK Delta resident in their 60s died due to complications of COVID-19. The next of kin have been notified. YKHC sends our deepest condolences to the loved ones mourning the loss of this individual. This is the 50th COVID-19 death associated with the YK Delta region.

COVID-19 Updates and Community Information

Vaccinations: YKHC strongly encourages all people 5 years and older to get vaccinated against COVID-19. 

Booster shots:  Anyone ages 12 or older who is five months past their second shot of the Pfizer is eligible for a booster. Everyone ages 18 or older who received the Moderna vaccine more than five months ago or the Johnson & Johnson vaccine more than two months ago is also eligible. To learn more, click here.

To schedule a vaccine appointment for children ages 5 to 11: In Bethel, call 543-6949. In villages, please call your local clinic.

In Bethel –

  • Individuals who have symptoms of COVID-19 OR are close contacts of a known positive are required to test at the outdoor site, in the CHSB parking lot, across the street from the hospital, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
  • Individuals wanting to test out of quarantine on/after day 5 must test at the outdoor site, in the CHSB parking lot, across the street from the hospital, 4:30 and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, or 4 to 6 p.m., Saturday.
  • Routine COVID-19 testing for those who have not tested positive within the last 90 days is available 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday on the first floor of the hospital.

Community safety: YKHC recommends all people, regardless of vaccination status, wear a mask in any indoor public setting.

Case statements are published the next business day after cases are identified (e.g. Monday cases are published Tuesday. Friday and weekend cases are published Monday. Cases identified over a holiday are reported the next business day.) Whenever possible, YKHC will notify patients and call the affected communities the day cases are identified
