One hospitalization and seventy-four new cases of COVID-19 in the YK Delta February 26-28

On February 26, YKHC reports fifty-nine new cases of COVID-19 in the YK Delta.

On February 27, YKHC reports one in-region hospitalization and eight new cases of COVID-19 in the YK Delta.

One In-Region Hospitalization
YKHC reports that one COVID-19 positive individual was admitted into the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta Regional Hospital. This is the 147th individual hospitalized in-region due to COVID-19.

COVID-19 Updates and Community Information

Vaccinations: YKHC strongly encourages all people 5 years and older to get vaccinated against COVID-19. 

Booster shots:  Anyone ages 12 or older who is five months past their second shot of the Pfizer is eligible for a booster. Everyone ages 18 or older who received the Moderna vaccine more than five months ago or the Johnson & Johnson vaccine more than two months ago is also eligible. To learn more, click here.

To schedule a vaccine appointment for children ages 5 to 11: In Bethel, call 543-6949. In villages, please call your local clinic.

In Bethel –

  • Individuals who have symptoms of COVID-19 OR are close contacts of a known positive are required to test at the outdoor site, in the CHSB parking lot, across the street from the hospital, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
  • Individuals wanting to test out of quarantine on/after day 5 must test at the outdoor site, in the CHSB parking lot, across the street from the hospital, 4:30 and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, or 4 to 6 p.m., Saturday.
  • Routine COVID-19 testing for those who have not tested positive within the last 90 days is available 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday on the first floor of the hospital or 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, in the Blueberry conference room, located by the emergency room entrance.
