On February 15, YKHC reports one in-region hospitalization, one medevac and 155 new cases of COVID-19 in the YK Delta.

One In-Region Hospitalization
One COVID-19 positive individual was admitted into the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta Regional Hospital. This is the 142nd ndividual hospitalized in-region due to COVID-19.

One Medevac
On Sunday, February 13, one COVID-19 positive individual was medevac’d out-of-region for hospitalization. This is the 39th individual medevac’d due to COVID-19.

Dashboard update: The State of Alaska notifies YKHC about YK Delta residents who test positive for COVID-19 while outside YK Delta. After reviewing data provided by the state, YKHC will add 16  additional cases to the total case on the YKHC dashboard today.


COVID-19 Updates and Community Information

Vaccinations: YKHC strongly encourages all people 5 years and older to get vaccinated against COVID-19. 

Booster shots:  Anyone ages 12 or older who is five months past their second shot of the Pfizer is eligible for a booster. Everyone ages 18 or older who received the Moderna vaccine more than five months ago or the Johnson & Johnson vaccine more than two months ago is also eligible. To learn more, click here.

In Bethel –

  • Individuals who have symptoms of COVID-19 OR are close contacts of a known positive are required to test at the outdoor site, in the CHSB parking lot, across the street from the hospital, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
  • Individuals wanting to test out of quarantine on/after day 5 must test at the outdoor site, in the CHSB parking lot, across the street from the hospital, 4:30 and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, or 4 to 6 p.m., Saturday.
  • Routine COVID-19 testing for those who have not tested positive within the last 90 days is available 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday on the first floor of the hospital or 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, in the Blueberry conference room, located by the emergency room entrance.

Case statements are published the next business day after cases are identified (e.g. Monday cases are published Tuesday. Friday and weekend cases are published Monday.
