INGREDIENTS:
- • 1 ¼ cups water
- • ½ cup uncooked brown rice
- • ¼ teaspoon salt
- • 3 cups fat free milk
- • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- • Berries or other fruit (optional)
PREPARATION
- In a large saucepan, combine water, rice, and salt.
- Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 30-45 minutes or until tender.
- Stir in milk and brown sugar.
- Cook, uncovered, for 40-50 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
- Chill if desired.
- Serve with fruit on top.
